AI i klassrummet: Det säger forskningen
The blog post “AI i klassrummet: Det säger forskningen” explores how generative AI is being used in Swedish classrooms, drawing on recent studies and reports. A majority of Swedish youths aged 12–19 have encountered AI in their education, with one-third using AI tools like ChatGPT for schoolwork. Teachers are also starting to incorporate AI—about half have used it in some way—but only a small percentage do so extensively. Notably, while many teachers have used AI themselves, fewer have introduced it directly to students.
Research suggests that AI tools like ChatGPT can enhance students’ academic work, especially in writing and STEM subjects, helping them understand complex concepts. However, there are concerns about students’ critical understanding of AI, as well as ethical and pedagogical challenges for educators. Experts emphasize the need for schools to start experimenting with AI integration despite limited prior experience. Efforts are underway to develop practical lesson plans and improve AI literacy among both teachers and students.
