The Extent of AI Applications in EFL Learning and Teaching

Through a systematic review, this work seeks to provide a summary of the available literature with regard to the applications of AI in English as a foreign language (EFL) education. This review considers a wide range of AI technologies and methodologies, with a specific focus on the integration of AI into the realm of EFL education. The review then delineates the possible effects of AI in terms of developing students’ language skills, students’ and teachers’ perceptions of using AI applications, and the difficulties and challenges inherent to implementing AI applications
